If you want to get an idea of your longevity without stepping foot in a doctor’s office, try the sit-rise test.

A new study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology followed 4,282 adults between the ages of 46 and 75 to assess how well they could lower themselves to the floor from a standing position—and then rise back up—using as little assistance as possible from their hands, knees, furniture, or other people.
