HRT, Ice Plunges, Omega-3s & Dead Hangs Saved Me – Now We’re Saving Doctors

November 25 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm EST
Stefan Hartmann P.A.-C

Stefan Hartmann, PA-C, brings a lifetime of holistic living, elite athletics, and front-line clinical experience to his work helping patients – and now physicians – reclaim their health. He is the lead clinician at Iron DPC and the featured speaker for this week’s AOSIM webinar, “HRT, Ice Plunges, Omega-3s & Dead Hangs Saved Me – Now We’re Saving Doctors.”

Raised by holistic parents, Stefan grew up in a home where Chinese medicine, tai chi, and natural approaches to healing were the norm. To this day, he has never been treated with an antibiotic and did not receive routine vaccinations until he entered university. His passion for performance and resilience began early: from age seven he trained and competed in European junior tennis circuits, later moving to Florida at 15 to play on the USTA junior and men’s pro circuit. He has coached tennis since age 15, including three high school teams, blending mindset, movement, and meticulous attention to recovery.

Stefan attended the University of Central Florida, where he led the Club Tennis team to two National Championship appearances while working as an Emergency Department scribe with the goal of practicing medicine. He graduated magna cum laude in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports & Exercise Science, then continued working full-time in the ER while serving as a Master Trainer at LA Fitness, coaching clients of all ages and abilities through one-on-one training. From 2016–2018 he completed the Physician Assistant Program at Bay Path University in Massachusetts and, since graduation, has practiced in urgent care, internal medicine, spine surgery, interventional pain management, family medicine, and psychiatry.

This wide clinical background, paired with his training in sports and exercise science and his relentless curiosity about nutrition, anti-aging medicine, and biohacking, gives Stefan a distinctive, systems-based view of the human body. He believes patients deserve a clinician who looks for root causes rather than simply adding another prescription, and who is truly “in their corner” – studying their unique story, designing individualized plans, and aiming to restore vitality rather than merely suppress symptoms.

Throughout the pandemic, Stefan has been a vocal advocate for medical freedom, emphasizing informed consent, individualized risk–benefit discussions, and respect for patients’ choices around public health measures. He has been on the front lines treating COVID-19 since the earliest days in Florida, developing and refining an early outpatient treatment protocol and using it to care for thousands of patients over the years.

At Iron DPC, Stefan continually reviews the latest research and leads the team with up-to-date data, theories, and practical tools to help reverse chronic disease and extend health span. He routinely provides CME lectures for academic and professional groups, and his YouTube and Rumble channels host hours of literature reviews and clinical insights. His protocols now guide treatment plans across Iron DPC providers – and in this webinar, he’ll share how HRT, deliberate cold exposure, omega-3s, and simple “dead hangs” became part of the regimen that changed his life, and how those same principles can help save the careers – and health – of fellow doctors.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the physiological and clinical roles of hormone replacement therapy, deliberate cold exposure, omega-3 fatty acids, and grip/postural “dead hang” training in improving metabolic health, resilience, and longevity in physicians.
  2. Evaluate common patterns of burnout, metabolic dysfunction, and hormonal imbalance in clinicians, and correlate these with evidence-based strategies including HRT, ice plunges, targeted omega-3 dosing, and simple movement protocols.
  3. Design an individualized, stepwise self-care and treatment framework for physicians that integrates HRT, lifestyle “biohacks,” and foundational nutrition and movement practices to restore performance, protect brain health, and extend healthspan.
