Introducing: the First New Essential Fatty Acid Discovered in 90 Years C15:0 (aka FA 15) with Dr. Stephanie Venn-Watson

July 16 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

Dr. Stephanie Venn-Watson

Stephanie Venn-Watson, DVM, MPH, a veterinary epidemiologist and public health scientist with over 60 patents and 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications, discusses her recent discovery of Cellular Fragility Syndrome, the first nutritional deficiency syndrome discovered in 75 years. Cellular Fragility Syndrome is caused by C15:0 deficiency and may be impacting as many as 1 in 3 people globally.

C15:0, an essential fatty acid, is core to slowing aging and supporting longevity and has been featured by the New York Times, the Washington Post, and FastCompany’s World Changing Ideas. Her groundbreaking discoveries around C15:0 are the topic of an upcoming Simon & Schuster book, The Longevity Nutrient.

Currently, Dr. Venn-Watson serves as co-founder and CEO of Epitracker Inc. and Seraphina Therapeutics. Dr. V-W previously served as an epidemiologist for the U.S. Navy, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and World Health Organization. She has been awarded the Department of Health and Human Services’ Secretary’s Award for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and is an Albert Schweitzer Fellow for Life.

Dr. Stephanie received her D.V.M. from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, M.P.H. from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and B.S. in Animal Physiology and Neurosciences from the University of California, San Diego.

Beyond Epitracker and Seraphina, DR. V-M has dedicated her career to improving animal and human health, including leading investigations on the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on wild dolphins, chairing investigations into unusual marine mammal stranding events, founding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Healthy Pets, Healthy People program, and founding the Gap Junction STEM program for veterinary students and middle school kids.

Welcome Dr. Venn-Watson!
