Platelet Rich Fibrin A New Paradigm in Aesthetics
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation platelet concentrate derived from a patient’s own blood, designed to promote natural healing and tissue regeneration. Unlike platelet-rich plasma (PRP), PRF requires no chemical additives or anticoagulants; instead, it is produced through a simple centrifugation process that allows the blood’s natural clotting factors to form a fibrin matrix rich in platelets, leukocytes, and circulating stem cells. This three-dimensional fibrin scaffold slowly releases growth factors such as PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and IGF over several days, enhancing angiogenesis, collagen synthesis, and tissue repair in a more sustained and physiologic manner.
Clinically, PRF is widely used in regenerative medicine, aesthetics, and dentistry to accelerate healing and improve outcomes in soft tissue and bone regeneration.
